Install Card Case. Step by step.
You download the Card Case beta directly from our website. You do all steps on your Android phone. To use the app, you need a personal beta code.
These steps show the German screens of Android and the app. From version 0.14.107 you can switch the app to English under Settings → View → App language.

Already using Card Case? Before an update, back up your collection, lists and wishlists via “Import & Export”. Save the CSV files outside the app. A normal update is installed over the existing app. If an old test version prevents the update, first read our guide to switching versions.
- 01
Request a beta code
On our website, tap “Request beta access by email” or write to cardcaseapp@gmail.com. Keep your personal code safe.
- 02
Download the app on your phone
Open cardcase.online in the browser of your Android phone and tap “Beta download”. Wait until the download has finished. The installation file ends in .apk.
- 03
Open the downloaded file
In the download notification, tap “Öffnen” (open) or the file name. If the notification has disappeared, you find the file in your phone browser's downloads or in the “Eigene Dateien” (my files) app under “Downloads”.
- 04
Allow the installation if Android asks
If a message says that this source is not allowed to install apps, tap “Einstellungen” (settings) there. Allow installation for the app shown. Depending on the device, the switch is called something like “Dieser Quelle vertrauen” or “Aus dieser Quelle zulassen” (allow from this source).
This means the app on your phone that you used to open the APK, for example Chrome, Samsung Internet or “Eigene Dateien” (my files). Give the permission to this app only. Then go back to the installation.
- 05
On Samsung: lift a possible installation block
If “Unbekannte App gesperrt” (unknown app blocked) appears or the permission from step 4 is blocked, check Settings → Security and privacy → Auto Blocker.
If this feature prevents the installation, turn it off temporarily. Confirm with your PIN, fingerprint or other unlock method if asked. If available, turn on “Automatisch wieder einschalten” (turn back on automatically).
Open the APK again and give the permission from step 4 if needed. The menu names can differ depending on the phone and software version.
- 06
Install Card Case
Tap “Installieren” (install) and wait until Android has finished. For an update, “Aktualisieren” (update) may appear instead.
- 07
Reset the settings
In your phone settings, search for “Unbekannte Apps installieren” (install unknown apps). Choose the app from step 4 and turn its installation permission off again.
If you turned off Samsung's “Auto Blocker”, turn it back on. Card Case stays installed.
Google Play Protect stays on. If a security scan is offered, let it check the file. If it is blocked as harmful, cancel the installation and send us the exact message.
- 08
Open the app and enter your beta code
Open Card Case with the app icon on your phone. Enter your personal beta code and follow the activation notes. After that you can start your collection or read saved lists back in via “Import & Export”.
Help with the installation
If the installation or activation does not work, write to cardcaseapp@gmail.com. Tell us your phone model and the exact error message. A screenshot helps us, too.
If Android reports “App nicht installiert” (app not installed), only delete an existing Card Case version after you have checked your backup and prepared your beta access. The necessary steps are in the guide to switching versions.
You find more help from Samsung on Auto Blocker and from Google on installing from other sources.
